"If you take care of birds, you take care of most of the environment problems in the world."
- Dr. Thomas Lovejoy
Be part of the solution, and be part of our gala.
Join us for food, fun, entertainment, and a keynote speech from one of Iowa's biggest animal advocates, Anne Shimerdla, CEO of the Blank Park Zoo. Plus, enjoy music from Iowa musician Chad Elliott, live art and more. This is going to be a night to spread your wings and have some fun! Wings of Iowa, a Celebration of Birds, is a way for us to bring awareness of the importance of wild birds in Iowa and the impact on our communities and environment. Many bird populations are experiencing major population declines due to habitat loss, climate change, light pollution, and decrease in food sources. You are who the birds count on for their future, and with your attendance, we are giving birds a second chance and creating a future for our feathered friends. Iowa Bird Rehabilitation is at a point where for us to continue doing our work, we need to grow and expand. On March 8th, come learn about our future goals and how you can support our work. |
This year's gala will be located at The Monroe in West Des Moines with plenty of room for everyone, a stage and separate rooms for our silent auction and food. We would be honor if you would join us to celebrate Iowa's wild birds.
Auction details to come closer to the event.
